Abstract

This article is a review of the most important publications concerning Adam Honory Kirkor, a 19th century archaeologist, ethnographer, commentary writer and publisher, whose work has not yet been thoroughly described. The author summarises Polish, Belarusian, Russian and Lithuanian publications about Kirkor and provides a detailed bibliography on the subject. Most of these publications concentrate on Kirkor's life in Vilnius and describe only some aspects of his work. The author underlines the lack of a detailed description of Kirkor's work in Krakow and Saint-Petersburg and also the question of his date of birth, which is still uncertain.
