Abstract
The article focuses on the presence and functions of Belarusian motives and imagery in the poetry of Ryszard Kapuściński, an outstanding Polish poet whose works are based on Belarusian realities, in particular Belarusian Polesie. The poet explores interactions and mutual influences of the Belaruso-Polish cultural borderland. In the article we trace manifestations of Belarusian images of Polesie and motives in Kapuściński’s works through analyzing his lyrical sentiments. The author of the article defines the spirit of the borderland region of Polesie in Ryszard Kapuściński’s poetry to create a comprehensive aesthetic system of Belaruso-Polish borderland literature during the 20th century.
