Abstract
This review discusses Tacciana Ramza’s monograph titled 'Belarusian Colloquial Language in a Slavic Context', published in 2014 in Minsk. In the book, the author analyzes the phonetic features of the colloquial speech of the Belarusian-speaking urban intelligentsia in comparison with other Slavic languages. The reviewer emphasizes the unique value of this publication, which sheds new light on the specific characteristics of the everyday pronunciation of city dwellers in the context of Belarusian-Russian bilingualism.
