Metafictive Code in Novels of Andrei Fedarenka

Abstract

The article offers an analysis of сonceptual parameters of the metafictive code in Fedarenka’s novels and their artistic expression. It is emphasised that in the novel 'The Audit' the author interprets the problem of the meaning of a literary work, rules of the literary process, and the relation between literature and life, whereas in the novel 'The Border' he talks about his work, about the evolution of the writer and its causes, as well as issues regarding the relationship between the writer and critics or readers. It is concluded that in the novel 'The Audit' the author uses a metafictive code visible in the plot and images, whereas in 'The Border' he uses introspection for creating confessions of the narrator.
