Abstract
The article describes and analyses contemporary Belarusian nouns that lack one-word equivalents in Polish. A list of 450 nouns was retrieved for this study from a variety of dictionaries and scientific sources. The Polish equivalents are analysed in their semantic, lexical and stylistic aspects. Most equivalents represent everyday lexis describing persons, things, buildings, places, diseases, animals and dishes.
