Textological Problems of Vincent Karatynski’s Poems Written in the Belarusian Language

Abstract

The article discusses various aspects of textology of Vincent Karatynski’s poems written in the Belarusian language. A comparison of the preserved manuscripts of works with their published versions allowed to state that Belarusian scientists and publishers failed to adopt an accurate approach while analysing the poet’s legacy. A scientific analysis of Karatynski’s texts will contribute to a more accurate understanding of them by literary critics and allow linguists to make certain adjustments to the history of written expressions of distinctive sounds of the Belarusian language.
