Abstract

In this article, linguistic features of the work were analysed at different language levels, which allows the author to confirm the assumptions presented in earlier research (E. Karski, A. Bruckner) on the Old Belarusian basis of the work. The text 'Homily of Grechys' in the greeting of a Lutheran pastor is a unique example of old Belarusian literacy in terms of high artistic value, provocative content, and the linguistic image of the work, which lays on an Orthodox person dialect imitated by a Jesuit priest.
