The Integrated Approach to the Study of Etiquette Formulas in Heterogeneous Languages

Abstract

The contrastive analysis of the speech etiquette formulas of greetings and farewells has been carried out in line with the modern integrated approach to the interpretation of scientific knowledge. The semantic and pragmatic parameters of the etiquette statements in Russian, Belarusian, Polish and English have been revealed at the synchronic and diachronic levels. The necessity of taking into account deep genetic meanings of linguistic units recorded in etymological and historical dictionaries, which influence their modern pragmatic senses, is emphasized.
