Abstract

The sphere of intersection of lexical and grammatical semantics are the classificatory and derivational categories. For the Slavic verb, the categories of aspect, semantic type of predicate, action start, transitivity, valence, and voice are relevant. These characteristics are connected with the temporal-aspectological and syntactic qualification of the verb; their changes lead to lexical-semantic changes. Such examples are shown in the article, primarily based upon the material of the Belarusian and Polish languages.
