Abstrakt

This article describes activities of Ukrainian socialist parties in the Polesie voivodeship during the 1920s and 1930s. They are an important aspect of the history of the west region of Belarus. The analysis is divided in several sections, in which the author discusses the history of different Ukrainian socialist parties, in particular the Ukrainian Socialist-Democratic Party, Ukrainian People's Party, Ukrainian Socialist Association 'SelSoyuz', Ukrainian Workers and Peasants Socialist Association 'SelRob', Ukrainian Peasants Association and Ukrainian Peasants Party, as well as the reaction of the Polish administration to them, respectively. One of the conclusions is that the Ukrainian socialist view, increasingly radicalized by its transformation into national communism, became predominant.
