Mniejszość białoruska a polityka językowa

Abstrakt

Each language undergoes natural processes of shaping and evolving in society, where it is used. However, a deeper analysis shows that the public authority interferes with the initial processes that take place in the language of a specific community. All those practices are known as a language policy. It is designed to promote and cultivate the language, especially the dialect of minorities’ forefathers that lived in the Republic of Poland. It is necessary to notice that various factors influence the language policy. For that reason, the issue has to be examined with interdisciplinarity in mind. This article addresses selected problems that correspond to the activities in favour of the Belarusian minority.
