Submission Process
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- Article is an original academic work;
- Article has not been published before and has not been submitted to another journal or book;
- Article does not violate any copyrights, legal or financial interests of third parties, and does not – create any conflict of interests;
- In relation to this article neither the situation of ghostwriting nor of the guest authorship occurs;
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
On average, manuscripts are evaluated in 4 weeks, reviewed in 5 weeks.
The journal is published once a year, in April. Therefore, the time from submission to publication depends on the submission date, and articles submitted closer to the publication date may appear in the next year’s issue.
The article should be submitted via the Publisphere UW platform. Questions may also be directed to the editorial office by e-mail actaalba[at]gmail.com..
The stages following submission are as follows:
a) Initial Editorial Screening
Verification of the manuscript’s compliance with the journal’s scope and formal requirements (up to 4 weeks).
b) Peer Review
Double-blind peer review procedure (up to 5 weeks).
The article is evaluated by two reviewers.
Possible decisions:
- accept,
- minor revisions,
- major revisions,
- reject.
c) Revision Stage
Authors are given 2 weeks to submit revisions.
d) Final Acceptance
The editorial board makes the final decision to accept or reject the manuscript.
e) Copyediting and Proofreading
Language editing, author proofreading, and final author’s approval for publication.
f) Publication
Publication in a journal issue with a DOI number, in Open Access, on the journal’s website and the website of the University of Warsaw Press.
