Abstract
Drawing on archival materials and hard-to-reach publications, this article explains some unknown aspects of the life of Artemiusz Weryho-Darewski and his family. The most important task facing Belarusian literary studies of today is to find the poet’s archives, which contained 16 works before the January Uprising (including a drama, a comedy, an opera and a Belarusian translation of Adam Mickiewicz’s narrative poem Konrad Wallenrod). This article is the first to account for the following works by A. Weryho-Darewski: Chivalric Rhapsody, a fragment of poems about the Transbaikal Uprising and The Siberian Album and a summary of Towiański’s Teachings. Photographs of the poet and his family are also included.
