Abstract

This article is an attempt at literary analysis of the novel The Lithuanian wolf by Ales Navarych, published in 2005 in Minsk. In spite of the fact that the novel has received a fair number of positive and negative reviews, it still needs a more thorough analysis. Special attention in the article is given to the issue whether this work can be called a historical novel and also to the relation between fiction and historical facts. Problems of architecture, composition, narration, subject, idea and language are also considered.
