Abstract

The Belarusian satirical poems of the 19th century Aeneis vice versa and Taras on Parnassus are analysed in the article in the context of the modernization of a literary classic. The ways of modernization of literary classics are listed. The place of the poem Aeneis vice versa of W. Ravinskiy is determined among other parodies of the famous antique work. Connections between works of the 19th and 20th century are shown on the example of the poems Taras on Parnassus of K. Veranicyn and Without Taras on Parnassus of M. Tank. Conclusions are made about the influence of the literary traditions of the 19th century on works of Belarusian writers of the 20th century.
