Abstrakt

The article is concerned with non-professional, naïve (insitnyi) Belarusian authors of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Detailed attention is given to the works of the naïve author Pilip Smoury. The mechanisms perpetuating this kind of literature are analysed and some problems faced by those studying similar cultural phenomena are defined.
